This review is from: TP-LINK TL-PA4010KIT AV500 Nano Powerline Adapter Starter Kit, up to 500Mbps (Personal Computers)
I moved to a house that had trouble with a wireless network. My only hope was to try the powerline adapters. I got this starter pack , plugged them in and they worked. There was no need to run software, get drivers or anything. Over the first few days, I've had a good, solid connection. By the way, my house was built 40 years ago and I am not using the same circuit breaker for the two modules. My wife is happy so I'm happy.

For a year, I've struggled with getting MLB TV to stream properly through my LG wireless CD player. After working with MLB tech support, it had become clear that a marginal wireless connection is insufficient for streaming a live HD TV broadcast.

I had to figure an alternative. Running a CAT 5 cable from the router to the CD player was something I wasn't looking forward to - there were many obstacles in the way.

Then I saw a review stating that wireline adapters had vastly improved and were now a viable, cost-efficient alternative, so I decided to give one a try.

The TP-Link TL-PA2010 kit arrived. I plugged one adapter into the router (located downstairs) and one into the CD player. In a matter of seconds, the connection was fully established and pumping the data through. I then did a speed check. Reception at the CD player went from under 1000 kbps to over 3000 kbps, exceeding the speed requirements of MLB TV for HD broadcasts.

5.0 out of 5 stars 30 second installation ..., February 27, 2013

... and only because I took my time walking across the house to plug in the other unit.

I am more than pleased with the performance and ease of setup of these devices. In fact I ordered another pair the day after these two arrived. I have many places in my home that are too hard to get Ethernet installed, and wireless left me with too many dead areas. This was not only an excellent technical solution to my problem, but cost effective compared to having professionals come in and pull cable.
