I have also owned a Gateway which I also really liked, but was stolen when my house was broken into; a Dell which I absolutely despise, it crashed about every six months and I had to re-install and fix my own computer because they wouldn't send someone out; a Toshiba which wasn't bad (lasted about 3 or 4 years for a walmart special should have bought a better model from a non-big boxed store) that the hard drive crashed in; and used my boyfriends Compaq which I also really disliked (not much ram keyboard and mouse was stiff and very slow.) This was a heck of a deal an $800 computer for $550 and delivered by noon the next day. The only con as of right now is the smaller screen, but I am used to it my Toshiba was also a 14" I just didn't find any larger new with windows 7 in my price range. Set up was very easy. There were a large number of Windows 7 updates that uploaded (about 64 I believe). Coming from XP, Windows 7 takes some getting used to; but the online tutorials are pretty good. The keyboard feels good. Display is bright. Setting up the wifi was a breeze - I didn't have to do anything but put in my password. Only thing I find less than perfect is the touchpad. You have to use 2 fingers to scroll. It does not seem to pick up a simple click - you have to revert to using the "mouse buttons". I think I am just going to pick up a wireless mouse. The whole package looks good. It is lightweight and much lighter than the Dell it is replacing. Pretty happy with it and very happy in being able to avoid Windows8.
