This product does the job just fine although I have to hold the mic close to my mouth for the person on the other end to hear me.The product description says this will work for iPhone 4 but the package says iPhone 4S. I'm not sure if that is the reason the controls on the mic aren't working or if it's just a defect. The volume up and down buttons don't work, nor does the button in the center. Those weren't the reasons for my purchase though. It meets my needs but doesn't match the promised features description. I also have some intermittent problems with the plug itself, if you don't get it in just right you'll either get static or no sound in one earphone. You have to fiddle with it a little. On here I preferred a lighter pink but I ordered these anyway and turns out I got what I wanted and they work just as good as my apple headphones.
