5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest little Clock, November 9, 2010

I had to laugh at some of the remarks by others. It has a warranty so use it! I've had mine for 2 years and works perfect everyday. Plug it in and stand back it does the rest. If I recall you do have to set your time zone. There is the dual alarm feature and the radio to setup to your liking but the very best thing is the "projection time" for me (my wife likes it too). I have never needed an alarm - I just wake up when I should and it so nice to be able to just look up and see the time on the ceiling. The alarm does work because my wife uses it. The large RED time on the face is easily seen in the daytime or night. I came online to order 3 more for each offspring. For the sound experts out there, the radio works but is in no way a Bose unit. It does the job intended (for me) perfectly. I mean really, what do you want for around $25.00? We have had the power go out a half a dozen times and it is right back to the correct time when power is restored. The really cool thing is... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Exactly what I was looking for ..., June 2, 2009

This review is from: Emerson CKS3528 SmartSet Projection Clock Radio with Dual Alarms (Silver) (Electronics)
I was looking for an inexpensive clock with big numbers and easy setup time. This clock exceeded my expectations. All I had to do was plug it in and it automatically set the time and date in less than 5 seconds! I couldn't ask for an easier setup process.

The projected time cannot be seen very well during the day but what can you expect. I would take a lot of power to project the time bright enough during the day ... on the other hand it works great at night.

I don't use the radio much so I don't have much to say about the radio.

Lastly and most importantly ... cannot be the price for what I got!

2.0 out of 5 stars Great While It Lasted, October 30, 2009
By
This review is from: Emerson CKS3528 SmartSet Projection Clock Radio with Dual Alarms (Silver) (Electronics)
I loved this clock for about the first three months that I had it, then the auto set feature broke, or something with the power supply broke, or something with the receiver broke . . . well, something broke. It now auto sets itself to 12 am on Tues, Jan 1, 2007 every morning at 8 am - it's currently October 2009. Nothing was changed or moved, it just stopped working. It was too cheap to justify paying shipping to have it repaired, so I've decided to trash it and buy a new alarm clock. That said, I loved the features and everything worked wonderfully . . . for about 3 months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome little thing!, November 12, 2012
By
This review is from: JBL Flip Wireless Bluetooth Speaker (Black) (Electronics)
I bought this Flip, as well as the Jawbone Jawbox to compare quality. The Flip synced immediately to my iPhone 4. Tested the sound and was really blown away! Synced the Jawbone, the sound wasn't too bad but prefer the Flip. I then tried calling a friend from the Flip to find out the quality of the microphone, as this was one of the main reasons I wanted a portable speaker. My one friend said I sounded good, the other said I sounded like I was in a tunnel. I will have to test this more. I then tried doing the same test with the Jawbone. I had lost my Bluetooth connection and tried pairing it again, and again, it wouldn't pair up after that, so I can't tell you which one was better for conference calling, sorry :( I will be bringing the Jawbone back, as the Flip is 1/2 the price, and to me the quality is great! Only time will tell how long this product will last, but for now I'm happy :)

I've had this about 2 weeks now. Purchased mine at my local Sprint store.
LOTS of volume, I chose this rather than the Jawbone because it was half the price.
Base & treble nice.
Well worth it.

The Flip is awesome, bought this for my Toshiba Excite 7.7 Android tablet (awesome tablet, but has weak speakers). While it may not compare to the $300 Big Jambox, it easily outperforms the $150 Jambox that its competing with, all while costing $50 less. I was able to play my emulators with both my Wiimote (bluetooth) and the Flip paired at the same time. Spotify sounds great, as well as my mp3 collection. It comes with a nice softcase, and it can be stood up vertically or laid horizontally. In comparison, the Jambox case seemed like a really tight fit, and is really meant to be laid across horizontally only. I'll point out that i'm a Sprint employee (technician) and we sell both of these products, as well as the big jambox, and most of us are fans the Flip. The price is the same as Amazons, so unless you're getting free shipping, no taxes, or both, you can walk into a Sprint store and make a representatives day as they really rely on any sales they can get. You'll also get their 1... Read more

This review is from: Canon PowerShot SX50 HS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 50x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Electronics)
I picked up on the SX50 to do wildlife identification with birds and other critters. I have spent many hours behind the lens of Canons EOS cameras including the Mark III and 5d2 with L grade telephoto glass but I needed something lightweight and compact to use when the weight of the DSLR system was not desirable.

This camera is amazing for that task. I had looked at the SX30 and the SX40 in the past but for me testing them out at the stores the Autofocus just was not yet fast enough for me to be willing to work with. The SX50 changes that and has a very quick AF system that has already worked for me in a variety of situations for a sub 500 dollar point and shoot class camera I am extremely impressed with the AF system.

The resolution at 1200mm has exceeded my expectations and can create print worthy sharp results throughout the entire length. To get that kind of focal length with a DSLR would require a serious budget destroying investment that would weigh a... Read more

This review is from: Canon PowerShot SX50 HS 12.1 MP Digital Camera with 50x Wide-Angle Optical Image Stabilized Zoom (Electronics)
First of all: Please apologize my language, I'm no native speaker, but received so much help from Amazon.com reviews over the years, that I now try to give back my modest bit and tell about my experience with the Canon SX50 HS.

Before I used to walk around with two cams standby:
1st the Samsumg WB500, because I'm living at the shoreline where we need horizontal space for our pictures, hence can make best use of the 24mm ultra-wide lens.

2nd the Olympus SP-800UZ, because in a harbor area there are lots of fences and off limits zones, where they won't let you in, but you just want, want and want to take your pics nonetheless, hence depend on zoom potential.
Additionally there are seabirds and seal, a shy sheep's eye, a distant cow's tongue, whatever - I just never left the house without the 30x zoom of my Olympus.

Some weeks ago however, I noticed that besides taking pictures I'd love to now and then take videos, too.
And this is, where... Read more

Customer Video Review Length:: 1:09 Mins

I ordered the SX50 through Amazon, I tried it out, I liked it well enough and I intend to keep it. For what it does best, it works very well. For the rest, well... that depends.

&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
This is a video I shot of a fishing boat in Monterey Bay. I used my new SX50 with a 50X optical zoom and a 4X digital zoom for a total of 200X (sort of.) I know it's pixillated, but still just look carefully and you can see the fisherman casting his fishing pole at the stern of the boat and then sitting down. Pretty amazing video technology they have developed for this camera. So that is where this review starts - with the monster-zoom telephoto lens.
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&

What this camera does best is pretty obvious - it has a monster-zoom telephoto lens. I enjoy doing some telephoto work, and for that purpose it works amazingly well. At a 1200mm - 50X - zoom you simply cannot buy a Canon DSLR lens with that kind of... Read more
