5.0 out of 5 stars Best monitor ever. The only competitor is Dell 2713HM which costs $650, March 4, 2013

I had a Dell 2312hm and was happy with it, except,

(1) It was too bright and caused eye strain, even though I turned down brightness to 10. I think it has more to do with backlighting.

(2) Contrast level was not good and sometimes details were washed out.

(3) Colors erred on the cold side.

I could not be happier with this Lenovo monitor. The picture is bright but causes very little eye strain after prolonged use. Text is smooth and pleasant to read. Animes display beautiful colors. Played some Starcrat 2 and did not notice any ghosting or input lag.

I am using text mode, brightness=15, contrast=60, natural color mode. I do not have professional calibration tools but I think the color temperature is very close to 6500K. My old Dell has 6100-6200 and this Lenovo is a little warmer than the Dell.

Among 27 inch monitors at this price range, this is the only one that has matte screen. I thought about a few other 27... Read more

good screen, for cheap price :)
BEST style of all the 27inch IPS out there in my opinion,
with the most SOLID stand. doesn't wobble.

no dead pixel on arrival
has multiple inputs for PS3 / console games. as well as HDMI / DVI for pc

it is perfect (almost) in every way except:

1080p not 1440p - i bought this knowing that.. i did not need 1440p
screen is not fully "edge to edge"..there's a quarter inch border at the edge of the screen.
non-rotating stand... i have to turn the whole thing to angle it.
not a HDTV??? no antenna input -.-

4.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Monitor, January 2, 2013

I purchased this monitor to hook up to a retina MacBook Pro. Although it is not the super high-res of the retina, it displays the colors well and looks great. My only problem with it is that although the screen looks like it goes almost to the edge and the bevel is so small, there is still about 1/4" of black around the sides and top so that the image does not go all the way to the bevel. It's not a huge deal, but it would be awesome if it did. I never had a Lenovo monitor before, but I would recommend this one. It was between this one, an Acer and a Dell, all with similar specs. This one looks nice and has a good, stable base.
