1.0 out of 5 stars Adobe has lost its mind, November 27, 2012
Adobe has lost its mind thinking that anyone would pay over $450 for this confusing non-user friendly product. Maybe in 2013 Adobe can add another 100 features that nobody will use or understand and charge $1,000.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not improved enough over previous versons to make it worth the cost, January 19, 2013

I have been using Adobe Acrobat 9 for a few years now and really like it. It works well, but certainly leaves room for improvement. I tried Acrobat 11 to see if it is any better than 9 (or 10), and I'm sad to report that it is barely better.

If you are new to Acrobat, then this is a great deal. If you have Acrobat 9 or 10 this upgrade is not worth the money, unless one of the few new features is something that you will use frequently. These product releases that do nothing more than rearranging the buttons and menus are really getting annoying. If they improved the functionality and performance of the core features, I'd be happy to give them my money for it. Charging me to have to learn where everything is again and calling it an update does not provide me much value.

One person's "improved workflow" is another person's hours of learning new ways to do things. I went ahead and bought XI because a couple features are improved, but between the cost and the... Read more

Of all the software that I use, Adobe products frustrate me the most. They are great. They are literally indispensable. (As in, I could not do my job without them.) But unlike everyone else from Apple to Microsoft, Adobe seems to have not gotten the message about simplifying the interface. Each new version is different, stuff is moved around, stuff is removed, new stuff is added. There is so little consistency, and so little seems done in the name of IMPROVING the product, as opposed to adding to a product checklist or some arcane product lifecycle plan. I was actually on the beta team for the very first version of Acrobat, which was installed off of something like 20 3.5" floppies, many years ago, and I can honestly say that the user experience, while very different, does not feel markedly better. And yet the price continues to rise... In fact, with this new version, I can honestly not find one gem feature, one addition, where I can rationalize the need to upgrade.
