Building upon the success of the SB6121, Motorola's SURFboard SB6141 enhances your personal media experience, at lightning-fast broadband speed. It harnesses the power of DOCSIS 3.0 technology to bond up to eight downstream channels and four upstream channels--providing you advanced multimedia services with data rates up to 343 Mbps download and 131 Mbps upload depending on your Cable Internet provider service. That makes streaming HD Video, gaming, shopping, downloading, working, high-quality voice and video conferencing, and peer-to-peer networking applications far more realistic, faster, and efficient than ever before.

Now I am not having to do reboots every few days (had on a vacation timer anyway) and I am ready when someone with more bandwidth comes knocking. This lifehacker article led me to this modem and I am very happy with it - [...] On the Time Warner approved list & I was on hold with the TW support folks for longer than it took to install. Just gave them the mac address after hooking it up and it was golden. Like I say don't have a bonded connection but do have the consistent 30 mbps down/ 5mbps up connection that I pay for. This review is from: Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Retail Packaging - White (Personal Computers) Replaced my older DOCSIS 2.0 cable modem with this one - what a difference! Download speed is over twice as fast now - caps out at 3 MB/s download for files. I have Cox Premier service, so I was under-utilizing my service capabilities using my old SB5101 modem. You definitely need DOCSIS 3.0 if you are paying for higher plans from your ISP. 0 of 1 people found the following review helpful This review is from: Motorola SurfBoard SB6141 DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Retail Packaging - White (Personal Computers) Has no problem on Comcast's 50 mbps / 10 mbps (DL/UL) connection. Small and a tad warm but nothing dangerous.Would recommend. |
